How much does Shopify cost | SeDigital

How much Shopify costs per month in 2026. Basic, Grow and Advanced plans, payment fees, VAT, and what it costs to launch a store with a professional in Spain.

How much does Shopify cost | SeDigital

How much Shopify costs is two separate bills. One is the platform fee (monthly or annual plan, plus payment commissions). The other is how much it costs to create a Shopify store if you want a properly set-up theme, product sheets, payments in Spain and a minimum of SEO. The €9/month plan that still appears in old copy no longer exists.

Official prices change and are shown excluding VAT. Check the live figure on the Shopify Spain pricing page. As of September 2026, on annual billing in euros (ex VAT), the EU order of magnitude is: Basic around €24/month, Grow €69/month, Advanced €289/month. Month-to-month is higher (around €32 / €92 / €384). Plus starts above €2,000/month.

Shopify store plans and cost

How much Shopify costs per month

After a 3-day trial, Shopify often offers €1 (or $1) per month for three months. Then the plan rate kicks in. In Spain, 21% VAT is added to the subscription if you invoice as a company or sole trader established here.

Basic. Full store, limited extra staff accounts, Shopify Payments, SSL and hosting included. Fits a small catalogue and a single operator.

Grow (the mid plan; it used to be called “Shopify”). More staff accounts, stronger reports, slightly lower card rates.

Advanced. Carrier-calculated shipping, more staff, better card rate. Makes sense with volume or several markets.

Plus. Enterprise contract, custom checkout, unlimited B2B. Not the plan for a 40-SKU shop.

Hosting, SSL and the myshopify.com subdomain sit inside the fee. A custom domain is bought separately (€10–€15/year) or connected if you already own one.

Fees that do not appear in the plan headline

Shopify Payments charges a percentage + a fixed amount per transaction. On the public dollar table, Basic is around 2.9% + $0.30; Grow 2.7%; Advanced 2.5% (local euro and Bizum figures sit on the pricing checkout). If you use Redsys or PayPal as an external gateway, Shopify adds a transaction surcharge (around 2% on Basic, lower on higher plans).

That surcharge is why the “cheap plan” gets expensive at volume if you skip Shopify Payments. Pick a plan from average order value and volume, not from the €24 line alone.

Apps, premium themes and POS Pro are extra. A paid theme is roughly $0–$350. POS Pro, if you have a real physical shop, is another monthly line per location.

How much it costs to build the store

The subscription does not include launch work. Three Spain scenarios:

Yourself. €0 agency + a free or paid theme + 20–60 hours. Fine to validate a product. Shopify SEO is usually half-done (duplicate titles, too many collections, a slow theme).

Freelancer. €1,500–€6,000. Theme configured, payments (Bizum, cards), shipping, email and a reasonable catalogue.

Agency. €6,000–€20,000. Design, integrations, Markets, training. Above that, headless or Plus.

Compared with PrestaShop, Shopify concentrates spend in the recurring fee and in commissions. PrestaShop concentrates spend in the initial build and in your own hosting. Over five years with real sales, run the numbers on the percentage of each order, not on the list price of the plan.

Which plan usually fits

Low revenue and one operator: Basic, billed annually.

Small team and a need for reports: Grow.

Volume, several countries or complex shipping: Advanced.

Custom checkout, large B2B or several storefronts: Plus, and a partner, not a tutorial.

You can cancel standard plans whenever you want. Plus has a commitment. The useful figure for “how much Shopify costs” is fee + commissions + VAT + what it takes to make the store actually sell, not the big number on the marketing homepage.
